My rule for staying young is simple: keep all your attention on the part of you that’s young and growing your brain. Keep your mind awake and you will stay young all over. These are exciting times. Take an interest at least one new thing every day.

Careless of your age, it’s not late to make your life more interesting. I know a housewife who had no knowledge of design, who has now made herself into an excellent industrial designer. I know a retired electrical engineer who has become a highly paid ceramic (陶器的) artist.

Get over the idea that you are ever too old to go back to school. I know a man who entered Medical College at 70. He got his degree with honors and became an admired doctor. Another man went to school at 71 and is now an active lawyer.

书面表达二

Nowadays plastic bags are more often used in people’s daily life than ever before. Almost everywhere plastic bags can be seen. Even in some schools it’s popular to use plastic bags.

It’s not unusual that we can find used plastic bags everywhere, such as on the road, in the tree branches, in the field, or in the air if it is windy. So it is high time that we stopped using plastic bags. Because it is difficult for them to be degraded, they have caused great harm to our environment. What’s more, they also harm the image of our motherland. It is the main form of white pollution.

So all of us should be warned to stop using plastic bags. The government should set up a law to prevent people using them. Meanwhile, people should be encouraged to use paper bags, and some other bags which are use paper bags, and some other bags which are friendly to the environment to carry things.
