The Internet is becoming important in our life. How much do you know about it ? What is the Internet?

The Internet is a large, worldwide collection of computer networks. A network is a small group of computers put together. The Internet is many different networks from all over the world. These networks are called the Internet. Once you have learned to use the Internet, you can do a lot of interesting things on the World Wide Web.

What is the World Wide Web?

The World Wide Web has been the most popular development of the Internet.

The Web is like a big electronic book with millions of pages. These are called homepages.

You can find information about almost anything in the world on these pages. For example, you can use the Internet instead of a library to find information for your homework. You can also find information about your favourite sport or film star, talk to your friends or even do some shopping on the pages. Most pages have words, pictures and even sound or music.

What is e-mail?

Electronic mail(e-mail) is a way of sending messages to other people. It’s much quicker and cheaper than sending a letter. If you want to use e-mail, you must have an e-mail address. This address must have letters and dots and an “@”. This is what an address looks like: meily@ star. Next, write a message, type in the person’s e-mail address, then send the message across the Internet. People don’t need to use stamps, envelopes or go to the post office since the invention of the Internet. Quick, easy and interesting-----that’s the Internet!

60. The Internet is_______.

When I opened my e-mail the other day, a pretty woman named Rachel appeared on my computer screen. She greeted me by name and started with great enthusiasm(). Every now and then she stopped to smile at me or blow a kiss. She was reading to me an e-mail from my brother, and a lot of it was about the trouble he had getting the phone company to give him a high –speed Internet connection. It was pretty cool.

Rachel was there thanks to a new technology called Facemail. Facemail lets you send an e-mail that gets read to the recipient() by an attractive male or female form or by a clown(). The software, is free, can be downloaded at www. Facemail.com. Facemail faces are lifelike, and they simulate emotions based on emotions, for example, that you put in your text. Type in: -x, and Rachel blows a kiss.

Life FX, the company that develops the Facemail, is sure there are broad business uses. The reason e-business is not popular, the company says, is that buying over the Internet lacks the human touch. But what if you went to Nike website and Michael Jordan greeted you by name, waited on you and personally closed sale? And it is talking with Whirlpool about using the technology in a computer screen on a fridge. Then if Mom can’t be home when the kids get back from school, she can leave a note with voice and image telling them what there is to eat. Facemail could get hot fast. Personally, I’m a fan. But Facemail should be used with care. The clown looks lively and funny at first. But if you select the clown, put a few rude words in an e-mail and add some angry emotions, you’ve got Psyh-mail().

Good health is the most valuable thing a person can have, but one cannot take good health for granted. It is important to remember that the body needs proper care in order to be health. There are three things that a person can do to help stay in good shape: one should eat right foods, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly.

Proper nutrition is important for good health. Your body cannot work well unless it receives the proper kind of “fuel”. Don’t eat too much food with lots of sugar and fat. Eat plenty of foods high in protein, like meat, fish, eggs. Vegetables and fruits are very important because they provide necessary vitamins and minerals. However, don’t overeat. It is not helpful to be overweight.

Getting the proper amount of sleep is also important. If you don’t get enough sleep, you’ll feel tired and easily get angry. You have no energy. Over a long period of time a little amount of sleep may even result in a change of personality. Be sure to allow yourself from seven to nine hours of sleep every night. If you do, your body will feel strong and refreshed, and your mind will be sharp.

Finally, get plenty of exercise. Exercise firms the body, strengthens the muscles, and prevents you from gaining weight. It also improves your heart and lungs. If you follow a regular exercise program, you will probably increase your lifepan. Any kind of exercise is good. Most sports are excellent for keeping the body in good shape: basketball, swimming, bicycling, running and so on are good examples. Sports are not only good for your body, but they are enjoyable and interesting, too.

If everybody were to eat the right foods, get plenty of sleep and exercise regularly, the world would be a happier and healthier place. We would all live to be much older and wiser.

68. According to the passage, _________.

A.    we should always keep fit

B.    if we were healthy, we could spend our days in doing things with less sleep

C.    one can eat a lot to stay in good shape

D. one needn’t take any exercise if he is healthy

69. In order to keep good health, ___________.

A.    we should eat a lot of sweets

B.    one needs a large amount of fat

C.    people should eat according to the nutrition of food

D. we must try to sleep now and then

70. Eating more and sleeping less_________.

A. can keep healthy B. is no good for you

C. gets you more energy D. will keep your personality

71. The title of the article should be ___________.

A. Eating and Exercising B. How Vitamins Work in Man’s Body

C. Staying Healthy D. Sleeping well
