Not many years ago, a wealthy and rather strange old man named Johnson lived alone in a village in the south of England. He had made a lot of money in trading with foreign countries. Here are two cars that may some day take the place of today’s big automobiles( 汽车). If everyone drives such a car in the future, there will be less pollution in the air. In 1933 little had changed in the everyday life of the majority of Tennessee Valley people.

When he got there, he saw three children going down into the river. They were in great danger. He jumped into the river and soon pulled two children onto the bank.
