Most animals have little connection with animals of a different kind, unless they hunt them for fooD.Sometimes, however, two kinds of animals come together in a partnership (伙伴关系) which is good for both of them. You may have noticed some birds sitting on the backs of sheep. This is not because they want a ride, but because they find easy food in the parasites (寄生虫) on sheep. The sheep allow the birds to do so because they remove the cause of discomfort. So although they can manage without each other, they do better together.
Sometimes an animal has a plant partner. The relationship develops until the two partners cannot manage without each other. This is so in the corals (珊瑚) of the seA.In their skins they have tiny plants which act as “dustmen”, taking some of the waste products from the coral and giving in return oxygen which the animal needs to breathe. The bicycle is the common sight in our daily life, as a great many Chinese use one every day. But you may not know its role in strengthening international relations, as it did in the case of US President George W. Bush's visit to China last November.
President Bush arrived in Beijing on November 19, 2005 after he finished the APEC meeting in South KoreA.He met with Chinese top leaders and achieved agreements on trade, Taiwan issue and more.
Although Bush' s trip was short as 40 hours, he managed to spare a moment to do some cycling. On November 20, he rode up and down a steep path at Laoshan Olympic Mountain Bike Course in Beijing's suburbs.
Six young Chinese cyclists accompanied the president, who was dressed in a Chinese training uniform with the "Beijing 2008" logo (标志). He did not go along the arranged route and chose a more zigzag(曲折的) hiking path.
"How do you say, 'take it easy on the old man' ?" Bush joked to his partners before setting out.
"Compared with my bike path on the Crawford ranch (农场) , this one is greater and really difficult," said Bush when his 45-minute ride endeD.He said he will come to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.
This is not Bush's first cycle ride in Beijing. In 1975 at the age of 29, he visited the Chinese capital for the first time, when his father was head of the US liaison office (联络处) in Beijing, which Bush described as "fantastic".
However, observers said Bush's ride is much more than just his favorite pastime. It expressed friendliness with people in China, where the bicycle is an important part of life and culture.
According to the Washington Post, one of the major newspapers in the US, this was a specially arranged activity by the US Government, for they want to send the Chinese a sign of friendship. "The president is by no means hostile (有敌意的) to China," it said.

It is natural for young people to be critical of their parents at times and to blame them for most of the misunderstandings between them. They have always complained, more or less justly that their parents are out of touch with modern ways; that they always want to control them; that they do not trust them to deal with problems; and that they have no sense of humor, at least in parent-child relationships.
Young people often irritate their parents with their choices in clothes, hairstyles, and musiC.Actually this is not what they really intend to do. They feel cut off from the adult world into which they have not yet been accepteD.So they create a culture and society of their own. Then, if it turns out that their music or clothes or hairstyles make their parents angry, this gives them additional enjoyment. They feel they are better, at least in a small way, and that they are leaders in style and taste.
Sometimes you do not obey orders, and are proud because you do not want your parents to say yes to what you do. If they do, it looks as if you are unfaithful to your own age group. But in that case, you will probably think that you are the underdog: you can’t win but at least you can keep your honor. This is a passive way of looking at things. It is natural enough after long years of childhood, when you were completely under your parents’ control. If you plan to control your life , co-operation can be part of that plan. You can persuade others, especially your parents, into doing things the way you want. Get them to feel your sense of responsibility and initiative so that they will allow you to do what you want to do.
67.The first paragraph is mainly about ________.
A.children’s complaints about their parents
B.misunderstandings between children and their parents
C.the control of the parents over their children
D.children’s ability to deal with problems
68.The underlined word “irritate” in this passage is closest in meaning to “_______”.
A.to make someone excited B.to make someone angry
C.to please someone D.to comfort someone
69.Children choose to have certain strange clothes and hairstyles because they _______.
A.want to show their existence by creating a culture of their own
B.have a strong desire to be leaders in style and taste
C.have no other way to enjoy themselves better
D.want to make their parents angry
70.Children do not want their parents to say yes to whatever they do because they _______.
A.have already been accepted into the adult world
B.feel that they are better in a small way than the adults
C.are not likely to win over adults
D.have a desire to be independent

第二节:书面表达(共25分)
Possible version:
Dear editor,
I am writing to tell you about my classmates’ opinions about a TV programme——Super Girl.
About 80 percent of the students who have watched or heard of the program do support it. In their opinion, the program is not only unique but creative as well. Each person’s personality should be valued, whatever he or she is. The program provides a stage for those people who want to demonstrate their talents. And this can help them gain more confidence than ever.
However, other students think that the program misleads the youth to some degree, which does more harm than good to them. Some young people may feel that success comes from luck but not hard work.. Besides, it is misunderstood that personality just means different behaviour and appearance from others.
Although I am for such a program, it should not go so far as to affect young people’s normal life and learning.
Best wishes. Looking forward to your opinion.
Yours truly,
Li Ming
