Spider-man is about to look years younger, no thanks to Botox. Until now, the Peter Parker series, like most comics(连环漫画), was targeted at teen and adult readers. This week Marvel debuts(首次演出) its first line for the 10-and-under crowd. Spidey and the Fantastic 4 will star in less-violent story lines with panels that move in a grid-like(格状)pattern, instead of at angles, so they’re easier to read. Another difference: Parker ( the boy behind the suit ) looks like he stepped out of a cartoon, the result of Marvel focus grouping, says supervising editor MacKenzie Cadenhead. “There’s a more vibrant(活跃的)style, kids will respond to that.”
Marvel wants the series to convert(转变)younger readers into comic fans for life. The new line isn’t wholly sanitized – Spidey’s Uncle Ben still dies – but stories aren’t sagas(一长串事件): each issue is self-contained, so there are no “to be continued” plot twists. Editor in chief Joe Quesada says he has “high hopes” that the “X-Men” and “Captain America” will follow. If so, a battle may play out off the pages: DC Comics already devotes about 10 percent of its issues to kids. Publisher Paul Levitz says the books teach vocabulary. Just one problem: parents are desperate for back issues – and not for collecting purposes. Their kids’ favorite paperbacks can fall apart.
64. Why does Marvel target its comics at children nowadays?
A. Because the company wants to expand its market.
B. Because children like comic books as much as teenagers do.
C. Because spider-man is very popular with small children.
D. Because other companies sell comic books mainly to adults.
65. What does the author mean by “a battle may play out off the pages”?
A. Spider-man will fight against his enemy outside on the streets.
B. Companies will compete against each other.
C. Spider-man will fight against X-man.
D. Companies will fight against each other over the Spider-man comics.
66. Which of the following statements is true?
A. Only kids read spider-man comic nowadays.
B. Parents like to collect comic books for their children.
C. Spider-man, X-man, and Captain America are all comics.
D. Kids will talk to Parker because they like him very much.
67. According to the passage, Spider-man will make the following changes except_____.
A. he will move in a grid-like pattern
B. he will be a lot younger
C. he will use less violent language
D. he will be called Spidey

The golden autumn leaves are a fitness reminder for us all. This is the time of year trees take it off, and people put it on ---- weight that is.
“It is a rainy Saturday in November. Shall I go for my regular run or get a cup of hot chocolate and watch a DVD on the couch?” When you’re faced with these kinds of choices, staying fit takes a will of iron. But there are plenty of ways to stay healthy and fit while enjoying the good things about winter. Here are some tips:
Watch your diet. First things first ---- keep an eye on what you eat. Experts recommend vegetable soup as a quick, healthy warm-up meal. Just watch serving sizes ---- we tend to eat whatever’s in our bowls. Stews can be both filling and fattening. Use loads of fresh vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and leeks, and not so much meat and potatoes. Avoid eating while watching TV. Never bring the whole bag or bowl of anything to the sofa. Measure it into small portions beforehand.
Keep exercising. Winter’s arrival doesn’t mean we should stop exercising. Exercise makes you feel good, and helps you keep colds and flu away. The weather change only means we need to adjust our routines. Remember that it gets darker earlier. Make adjustments by joining a gym, planning evening walks in the neighborhood or becoming an early riser. Plan some family/friends fun time. One great way to stay healthy in winter is joining in team sports such as volleyball, basketball or soccer. The exercise and team spirit are hard to beat, but watch out for the hotpot party afterward. Take a class. Something like yoga or belly dancing is all you need to get out of the house once or twice a week. Plan to go with friends, that way you’ll motivate each other. Start a routine. The amount of exercise you need to stay fit isn’t actually all that much. Just 20 minutes a day is all you need. Exercise should be vigorous enough to raise your heart rate. So take the stairs instead of the lift. Go swimming. Grab sunny days for an outing.
By keeping your fitness levels up over the winter, you’ll find you feel better and get less colds. And you’ll be ready to welcome next summer with delight ---- instead of a diet.
72. Which of the following statements is NOT true in the writer’s opinion?
A. People had better do something to keep fit when they see the golden autumn leaves.
B. People usually gain weight when the leaves are falling.
C. It’s easy to choose between regular running and watching a DVD on a rainy November day.
D. There are many good things to do even in winter.
73. If you don’t want to gain weight, you’d better _____.
A. eat whatever in our bowls
B. take vegetable soup before a meal
C. eat while watching TV
D. try stews
74. In order to keep exercising in winter, you’d better do the following except _____.
A. make adjustments of your routines
B. get up earlier
C. take part in team sports
D. enjoy the hotpot party
75. Which can be the best explanation of the underlined word “vigorous”?
A. Energetic. B. Cruel. C. Mild. D. Gentle.

One day, Jack and his father thought out a new way to make friends. They wrote a note, “We want to communicate with those who find the bottle.” Then they put the note into a bottle and corked it. So they went to the seashore. Jack’s father threw the bottle into the sea as far as he could. Suddenly they heard a sharp scream from the sea. The bottle just hit a swimmer on the head when he raised his head above the water. The man cried angrily and ran after the father and son with the bottle. Jack and his father had to run away as fast as possible. Such was their first try of making friends in a new way.
